The Great Outdoors

Here we are at a State Park in WA

This part of the park is called The Bowl and Pitcher

This bridge was built in the 1930's and 40's by the civilian corp of engineers, and was recently re-vamped. It is about 1,500 ft long and the river underneath has class C rapids. Denali was the only one I could get to turn and look at me.

There are giant boulders strewn on the banks and in the river. All remenants of volcanic activity throughout history. Some of them are more than a hundred feet high and very impressive.

This picture is supposed to explain the name of this part of the park. It took me a minute to be able to see the resemblance. The rock is supposed to resemble a pitcher and the water - obviously is supposed to be the bowl. We feel so blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the country, and to be able to take our kids to experience their world.

I lived very close to that park growing up and never have been there. Pretty sad huh... It is definitely beautiful though.
